September 1, 2008 - MasterJoe.ORG v3.0
Well, after a month of work, the new layout is finally complete. With the completion of the new Links section, the new site is fully up and running. I have not decided to change the Publications, or the Tutorials pages, yet, since I feel that they are better left as they are. However, the Downloads, and the Links pages, both have the new layout, as well as new content. I updated some of the programs, which have released new versions, as well.

On another note, in another first for this web site, I want to comment on a particular piece of feedback, which I received about a month and a half ago. The person filled out the form with the name, e-mail, and web site all as notgotone, since they apparantly were not brave enough to stand behind their feedback, but it aws interesting to me all the same, as their criticisms, and support of them, were completely in opposite of one another. Their main issue was that my web site does not use a lot of fancy programming, Flash content, or anything too complex. Yet, they took issue to that because of my understanding of these skills, outline on the About Me page. Well, although they don't really deserve an explaination, as they could not provide contact information, and I do not believe in using the Internet as a tool to hide behind, I am going to give them one anyway. The reason that I keep my layout simple is that this web site is geared towards a very general audience. I want visitors to be able to easily find what they are looking for, and not to have to deal with an overly busy web page. I am not a very big fan of Flash web sites, or even Flash elements in a web site, as I believe it is very annoying, distracting, and frustrating for a lot of users, including myself. Therefore, the web site is kept intentionally simple, in order to ensure an easy, and enjoyable experience, no matter what the visitor's level of computer knowledge is.

I hope that users will continue snding me feedback, as I greatly encourage constructive criticism. I just wanted to point this one out, in particular, as they were not attempting to be constructive, by the tone of their feedback, and that simply suggests that they need more things to fill their time. I have also received a lot of positive feedback, and I hope that you will all keep it coming. I hope to hear how users enjoy the new site as well.
